Time

Somehow time passes by faster and faster it seems and we are already into the holiday season full force. So let me just say Happy Thanksgiving to you all. May you all eat lots of yummy food and not feel guilty for it!

There is a new YouTube of Christian Neilsen saying a big thank you. Take a minute to watch it if you can. Christian and Stephanie have successfully been moved to Utah and continue to recover. Yeah!

TAGGED...huh

Linda tagged me and it's probably a good thing since I haven't updated my blog for almost a month. I will devote this post to the Tag Game though since I only have a few minutes before I have to go meet with the Bishop. So here goes on 8 things from each topic:

Favorite TV Shows:

Dancing with the Stars, The Closer, NCIS, Psych, The Dog Whisper, House Hunters International, Curb Appeal (because I need some), Designed to Sell and Ghost Whisperer.

Favorites Places to Eat:

Mia Migos, Outback, Carrabas, Red Robin, Macayos, Bamboo Club, Cafe Rio and the Sour Dough Pizza Place.

Things that happened yesterday:

Chores around the house, helped with the funeral lunch for Shane Figueroa (the police office who was killed last week), went to Lowes, went to Costco, went to Walgreens and spent way to long there getting my perscription filled out correctly, then we had the adults session of Stake Conference which was awesome.

Things I'm looking forward to:

Going to Disneyland in December, seeing Linda at Christmas, getting two new books and reading them The Great and Terrible Vol.6: "Clear As the Moon" by Chris Stewart and "Grace" by Richard Paul Evans, going to the Temple and seeing 3 new Temples built here in Arizona.

Things on my Wish List:

"World Peace", wish I was more organized, could tell jokes without forgetting the punch line, could live next door to all my sisters, could sing as good as Linda, could eat anything I want and not gain weight, could be as good a speaker as Sheri Dew, have the courage and determination to face the world and build up zion without fear, not get distracted by things of the world.

OK now who can I pass this on to:

Anyone who wants to play this, I know that all my family have already done this and they are the only ones who read my blog that I know of, except maybe Merideth Ferrin (so if your reading this Merideth you have been tagged). It was harder than I thought it would be.

Love to you all!!

The things we do for you humans

Halloween bows...Really?!

An early Happy Birthday to Kristie

Today I was thinking of my dad and how much I take after him in the writing department. I don't really like to write but I know how important it is to put things down for others to read so I try to do it. Like my dad I love my family and even though I would like to be able to express it better in writing, I hope that I have expressed it whenever I am with them. Maybe I'll get better the more I do it. :)

I want to say Happy Birthday to my sister Kristie who's birthday is tomorrow so here goes:
HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
She is always there for me. She has really taken such good care of me especially over the last few years when I have had so many health problems. Without complaint she takes time off work to take me to doctor appointments and has helped me in so many ways. I am so glad to have you for my sister.

Mom's Birthday

My computer crashed so I am having to bum off others to update my blog.

I didn't have a chance to pay tribute to my mother yesterday on what would have been her 89th birthday. So today I would just like to say to my mom (because I know she is reading this too) you were my light and inspiration here on earth and I miss you more than words can say. In fact, she is probably looking over my shoulder checking my grammer and spelling. I miss playing scrabble with her, she was a fantastic scrabble player. I truly appreciate all the things she inspired in me; cooking, singing, laughing, playing scrabble, swimming, traveling, reading good books, being with family, laughing more, having a testimony of Christ, and loving the scriptures. And that is just the beginning. I was listening to the song "I Often Go Walking" yesterday as I was driving home from work and couldn't stop crying because that song reminds me so much of Mom.

I Often Go Walking
I often go walking in meadows of clover,
And I gather armfuls of blossoms of blue.
I gather the blossoms the whole meadow over,
Dear Mother, all flowers remind me of you.

Oh Mother, I give you my love with each flower
To give forth sweet fragrance a whole lifetime through
For if I love blossoms and meadows and walking,
I learn how to love them, dear Mother, from you.
--Phyllis Luch

She was a wonderful mother and I miss her but look forward to the day we will see each other again, and I am sure that is the song I will be singing as we meet. I love you Mom!

The joy of visiting teaching

Ok, so one of the ladies I visit teach reminds me so much of my mother that each time I get there it brings a little tear to my eye. I think the thing I like most is when she has on her house dress and of course lipstick. Mom would always have lipstick on and wouldn't leave the house without it. I always though that was funny but now I can't image her any other way. Oh, how I love my mom and I miss her terribly some days. Love you mom!!

Yippee!

For those who gave up on me ever posting anything again - suprise! Yes, I'm back or so I hope. I have no excuse but that I lead a rather boring life. Maybe I should just make stuff up so you will want to read my blog. But alas, no I cannot resort to fabrication.
So here goes:
Today I was home with a horrible migraine, one of those kind you just wish you could go into a coma for so you wouldn't have to feel the pain (now aren't you wishing I would make stuff up). After my medication kicked in and hoping for a little sympathy I called and talked to my sister Linda in Idaho where it is nice and chilly. Sure enought just hearing her voice makes me feel better. I got to spend a little time this last week with Linda while she was down from Idaho visiting her son Adam and his family. I always wish for more time with Linda but anytime at all is special to me. Adam and Whitney just moved into a new home in Surprise and Linda helped paint and get it ready for them to move in. Man is Surprise a long drive, but what a nice house!

Peaches were on my agenda last Saturday when my sister Kathy graciously shared hers with me. I went to her house and made lots of freezer jam and it turned out yummy! Thanks Kathy - your the best!!

Hugs and kisses to all my family - I love each and everyone of you!!

Christian and Stephanie Nielson

My cousin Mary Nielson's son Christian and his wife Stephanie Nielson were in a private plane crash on Saturday, August 16th. Sadly, the main pilot was killed but they both survived. They are both severely burned from the crash and Christian has a lower back fracture. Stephanie, or NieNie, is over 80% burned and Christian over 30% burned. The doctor said that they have a 60-70% chance of "walking out the door" with a lot of therapy and a year of intensive work and surgeries. They have four beautiful children and we all have faith that they will make it through this very traumatic time. It is truly a miracle that they survived through all of this. Heavenly Father definitely has a plan for them and they are truly choice spirits to go through this. Their treatments will cost millions. If anyone would like to donate, please click the button that says Donate to NieNie on the right. Anything will be greatly appreciated. Please keep them and their family in your thoughts and prayers.
